All right guys some of you may already know about this. I have started a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/Wrestling/Grappling Club in Brooklyn. The club will run twice a week (currently Wednesdays & Sundays).
Details below. Call me or post here if you have questions/commnets.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Training Schedule (subject to weekly changes):
Mondays - 8:45pm
Wednesdays - 8:45pm
Sundays - 12:00pm
Address: 2708 Avenue U (corner E27th street)
Cost: Please understand that I am trying to keep the cost as low as I can without paying money out of pocket for rent. Currently this means $13 per class/training session, with the option to pay $20 for one week (2 classes). If someone has a problem paying this - speak to me and maybe we can work something out.
What to wear: You can wear whatever you like - but make it something that you are comfortable to train in. The only caution is that if you wear short sleeve shirts and shorts you may get mat-burns on your knees& elbows (or you may not). Many of the people training now, prefer wearing a Jiu-jitsu uniform (aka Gee or Kimono), that is what I will wear most of the time. If you have a Gee (Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, or other) then bring it - it can't hurt. If you are interested in buying one, here is a good link: www.atama.com
What to expect: I will try to run this club the way all of the attendees (you) feel comfortable with. So if you are going to want to learn techniques I will be glad to teach, if you just want to free-spar/roll we will do that, if you want a formal warm up you will get one, and if you don't want it, you will stretch out on your own.
The emphasis of the training will be on competition style Submission Grappling/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. However, I have some friends who are Judo and Freestyle Wrestling practitioners and may come to train with us as well, and will gladly show some techniques as well as spar/wrestle. I will also likely arrange for some guests at times to show up (for example: I have a good friend who is a 4 time USSR Judo Champion, European Judo Champion, World Class Master basically – and he said that he will be interested in coming by some times)
Who should come to the club: From an experience point of view - everyone should feel comfortable coming. I will make sure that beginners (zero experience) get a good start, and that people that already have experience in BJJ/Wrestling are challenged.
If you don’t know me: I have been studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for about 7 years with Renzo Gracie. Prior to that I have another 7 years of experience in other forms of Martial Arts. But again the focus of the club is not on my knowledge/teaching (though I will always be willing to help) but on providing a space for practicing/sparring in an informal setting.
Call me with questions or comments: 917-748-9781. You can also let me know if you plan to show up.
